Johnnie Faye Newton -Lamb, age 83, of Baxley died Friday, October 8, 2021 at Appling Healthcare.
Mrs. Lamb was born December 5, 1937 in Appling County to the late John L. Taylor and the late Bertie Jones Taylor. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a retired Office Manager at Douglas & Harper. She was preceded in death by her former husband, William A. “Billy” Newton, sisters, Inez Reeves, Willie Ina Carter Woods, Jeanelle Kimbrel Mayers and brothers, Audrey Taylor and Aubrey Taylor.
Survivors include her husband, Orby Lamb of Surrency; daughters & sons-in-law, Donna & Jimmy Howard of Baxley and Laura Ann & Ray Tatum of Macon; a brother, Maxwell Taylor of Baxley; two granddaughters, Taylor (Charlie) Cassidy and Emma (Cale) Stich all of Macon; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Anne Cassidy. Step-daughters, Tami (Kip) Wainwright, Karen (Jimmy) Davis and Shona (Ike) Pate and nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren also survived.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Omega Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Howard, Rev. Fred Anderson and Rev. James Minick officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be Randy Kimbrel, John Thomas Kimbrel, H.M. Lott, Ashley Wainwright, Cale Stich and Charlie Cassidy.
Remembrances may be made to First Baptist Church 15 North Main Street Baxley, Georgia 31513.
Family will assemble at the home of Donna & Jimmy Howard 340 Satilla Church Road, Baxley.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
