Joseph (Joe) Brock, Jr

Rev. Joseph (Joe) Brock, Jr., age 72, of Baxley died Friday, May 8, 2015.


Rev. Brock was born December 9, 1942, in Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a truck driver and pastor before retirement and had worked for Rocky Creek Golf Course in Vidalia, GA. He also served our country in the United States Navy. Rev. Brock was preceded in death by his spouse,Patricia Brock; his mother and step father, Hazel and Jim Coffman; his father, Joseph Brock, Sr.; one daughter, Michelle B. Finch, and one sister, Star Carter.

Survivors include his daughter, Paula B. Hudson of Lucama, NC; his son Jeffrey Glenn Deans of Lucama, NC; one sister Sandy Mullinax of Dacula, GA; three brothers; Sam Coffman of Baxley, GA, Bobby Coffman of Jefferson, GA, James Coffman of Cleveland, GA an honorary daughter Charlene Price of Baxley, GA. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger LaRouche and the Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Sean Hughes, Jason Williams, Travis Coffman, Marshall Black, Julous Hudson, and Robert Bush.

Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Oates, Jimmy Fields, George Williams, and Stan Baxley.

Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
