Joyce Elizabeth Morris

Joyce Elizabeth Morris, age 90, of Baxley passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Pavilion.

Mrs. Morris was born November 27, 1933 in Baxley to the late Carlton Denton Greenway and the late Margaret McCrimmon Greenway. She was retired from Appling County Board of Education and was a member of Zion Church of God. Mrs. Morris loved to cook and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband James Franklin “Buddy” Morris, son, Donnie Morris and grandsons, Kodi Morris, and Michael Moore.

Survivors include her children; Mike (Carmen) Morris of Martinez, Tim (Kappy) Morris of Stockbridge, and Stevie (Paula) Morris of Surrency; brothers, Carlton “Buddy” (Sandra) Greenway of Baxley, and Jerry (Gloria) Greenway of Denver, Co. Grandchildren, Kathy (Jason) Melton, Richard Moore, Kelsey M. (Justin) Dyal, Carsen Morris, Spencer Brantley Williams; great-grandchildren, Chyan Moore, and James Moore also survives.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. R.M. Warren, Rev. Steve Statum and Rev. Danny Horne officiating.

Interment will follow in Milikin Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jared Turner, Jason Daniels, Darrell Morris, Dean Strickland, Scott Greenway, Johnny Morris, and Davy Morris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present employees of Fourth District Elementary School, members of Zion Church of God, former home health nurses, the staff of the Pavilion, and Dr. Tonya Fordham

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
