Kenneth Marshall Tanner
February 20, 1942 — March 6, 2016
Kenneth Marshall Tanner, age 74, of Baxley died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Tanner was born February 20, 1942 in Douglas to the late Baynard Tanner and the late Kathleen Kirkland Tanner. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired lineman with Georgia Power. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Baxley.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Harbin Tanner; daughter & son-in-law, Tamela & Woody Folsom; son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Paula Tanner; sisters, Jean (Larry) Varnadoe and Sharon (Robert) Brown; and brother, Dan (Mary Lynn) Tanner. Five grandchildren, Payne Ivie, Pierce Tanner, Abbigayle Tanner, Tanner Folsom, and Anna Kate Folsom also survive.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6-8 pm, at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Jordan and Rev. Robert Wigley officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Branch, Ricky Branch, Farris Dyal, Timmy Martin, Jerome Murray, Jessie Murray, & Dave Yawn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Georgia Power, Jerry & Jackie Norris, Jack & Betty Colston, Roy & Georgia Herrington, Jared Murphy, Lawanna Johnson, Charles Ray & Beckie Stipe, Annette Garnett, Jill Roberson, Elaine Williams, Lucille Stanfield, Cynthia Alderman, Leeanna Russell, and all friends & family in attendance of the funeral service.
