Ledley Baxley

Ledley Baxley passed away Saturday, March 8, at Appling Healthcare System.


Mr. Baxley, 89, was a native of Appling County, the son of Wilton and Marjie Baxley. He is survived by his son Michael (Bo) Baxley of Baxley; one sister, Sue Nell Lawson of Jacksonville, Florida; and three Grandchildren; Michael Jon Baxley, Brandy Baxley Deloach and Jason Wilson Baxley all of Baxley. Mr. Baxley is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Haynes Baxley.

Mr. Baxley was a veteran of the United State Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Young Farmers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Williams, Rev. Bill Stone and Rev. Keith Alderman, officiating.

Interment will follow in Baxley Grave Yard Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers: Donnie Baxley, Pete Martin, Eldon Baxley, Wade Moody, David Brantley and Tommy Atkins.

Honorary Pallbearers: Fisherman Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Staff of the Pavilion, C Hall, Bill Branch, Dave Sellers, James Clark, and Paschol Pearce.

Visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Swain Funeral Home.
