Lorene Wedincamp Wood, age 90, of Baxley died Monday, February 16, 2015.
She was born October 28, 1924 in Appling County to the late Jim Hopkins and the late Gertrude Beecher Hopkins. She was a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wood, two sons, Jimmy Wedincamp, Michael Wedincamp, granddaughter, Rhonda Dozer Carter & grandson, Robby Wedincamp.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Nell Carter of Baxley; 3 sons & daughters in law, Jerry & Jennifer Wedincamp of Martinez, Larry & Jeanne Wedincamp of Baxley & Bobby & Susan Wedincamp of Marshallville; 16 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown Officiating.
Interment will follow in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Jeffrey Carter, Larry Wedincamp, Jr., Kelly Murphy, Mark Wedincamp, Jimmy Wedincamp & Sam Lawrence.
Honorary Pallbearers: Staff of the Pavilion, Dr. Orlando Fernando & Adult Ladies Sunday school Class of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Swain Funeral Home.
