Mark Anthony Carter

Mark Anthony Carter, age 70, of Baxley passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.

Mr. Carter was born January 14, 1954 in Bacon County to the late George Clennon Carter and the late Doris Irene Rentz Carter. He worked maintenance for Southeastern Gin and Peanut and was also a farmer, carpenter, and craftsman.  He was retired from the Fourth District Fire Department and was an avid fisherman.  He loved to garden and was always piddling and working on various projects.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Larry D. Carter.

Survivors include his sons, Blake (Ashley) Carter and Brent Carter and their mother Rhonda Carter; grandsons, Colton, and Cason Carter; brother, Ronald (MaryAnn) Carter; and sister-in-law, Connie Carter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Antioch Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Yawn, Larramie Boatright, Clint Carter, John Holton, Max Hernandez, and Dillon Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and family in attendance.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
