Mary Levenia Doke, age 86, of Baxley died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Appling Healthcare System.
Mrs. Doke was born June 26, 1927 in Appling County and was the daughter of the late Willie Clifton Courson & the late Fannie Almira Altman Courson. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she served in the Women's Club. Mrs. Doke was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Doke, 3 sisters, Jimmie Lou Lynch, Willie Mae Webb and Merle Head.
Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Lucy & Dale Overstreet of Baxley; Grandchildren, Nicholas & Jennifer Overstreet of Alma and Jessica & Ray Dixon of Baxley; 4 great grandchildren, Knox Overstreet, Maddox Overstreet, Ashton Dixon and Jed Dixon. 1 Sister, Odessa Skipper of Baxley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Coss and Rev. Creig Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Wayne Doke, Charles Maxwell, Jerry Wilkerson, Ricky Branch, Randy Branch & Roger Branch.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of Hopewell United Methodist Women's Club.
Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service at the church.
