Mary Eula Mckinney Sapp

April 21, 1926 — February 7, 2015

Mary Eula McKinney Sapp, age 88, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at The Pavilion.

She was born April 21, 1926 in Pulaski County to the late David L. and Eula A. Atkinson McKinney. She has lived in Appling County most of her life. She worked in the clothing manufacturing business, retiring from Bailey Boys. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, a self-taught artist and was known for her rose garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin R. Sapp and two brothers, J. D. McKinney and Norman Lee McKinney.

Survivors include a son, Edwin Sapp (Barbara Walcott) of Hillsdale, NJ; a daughter, Sarah Ann (Bob) Douthitt of Castle Rock, CO; a sister, Hilda Carter of Baxley; a granddaughter, Saray Walcott-Sapp, M.D. of Portland, OR; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers: Stanley Sellers, Stacey Sellers, McL Carter, Barry Branch, Norman McKinney, & Van Carter.

Honorary pallbearers: Donald & Lorene Hunter, Floyd & Claudine Hunter, Joann Beecher, Doris Davis, Wanda Ammons, Melvin & Hazel Nix, Dr. Orlando Fernando, the staff of The Pavilion and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.

Remembrances may be made to the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (c/o Billy Wayne Sellers 1360 Sellers Rd. Baxley, GA 31513).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
