Mary Ruth Yawn
July 25, 1935 — July 8, 2014
Mary Ruth Yawn, age 78, of Baxley died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at The Pavilion.
Mrs. Yawn was born July 25, 1935 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Cornelius Mitchell Aldridge and the late Maggie Lee Taylor Aldridge. She was a retired seamstress with Douglas & Harper and a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Yawn and her daughter, Brenda Kaye Yawn.
Survivors include her son, Mike Yawn of Hazlehurst; sister, Guynell (Derriel) Lott of Alma; brother, Charles (Ann) Aldridge of Baxley; grandchildren, Brenda Varnadoe and Brandon Yawn; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from Friendship Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Barry Teutsch & Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Baxley Graveyard.
Mrs. Yawn will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Aldridge, Mathew Taylor, Colf Taylor, Jesse Miller, Mitchel Todd, & Kevin Todd.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance of the funeral service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
