Montel Hooks age 75, of Baxley died Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
Mrs. Hooks was born March 21, 1941 in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Ralph Mills and the late Ruby Lee Phillips Mills. She was a member of the Church of God in Vidalia. Mrs. Hooks was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Hooks, a sister, Vonnie Ashley and two brothers, Ronald Mills and R. L. Phillips.
Mrs. Hooks is survived by her daughter & son in law, Carol D. & Ricky Williams of Baxley; three sons & daughter, James R. & Francisca McKenzie of Baxley, Jeral Lee McKenzie and Timothy Randy McKenzie both of Vidalia; sister, Fausteen Phelps of Vidalia; sister in law, Mae Mills of Collins; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Ross officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Toombs County.
Active pallbearers are Mony Collins, Ricky Collins, Donnie Collins, Cody O'Neal, Dennis Higgs and Matt Higgs.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Pavilion B Hall Nursing Staff.
Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
