Nola J. Smith

Nola J. Smith, age 84, of Baxley passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Pavilion.

Mrs. Smith was born on March 20, 1938 in Ware County to the late Robert Grover Lee and the late Annie Maybelle Fichette Lee.  She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, and was an avid cook, and loved visiting shut-ins.  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Smith, Sr.; grandson, Harry “Buckshot” Rigdon; and great grandson, Jake Smith.

Survivors include her sons, Steve (Donna) Smith and Andy (Carolyn) Smith all of Baxley. Ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Gardner, Rev. Daniel Harris and Rev. Ron Ross officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Josh Gardner, Kevin Thompson, Austin Williams, Cody Crummey, Eric Watts and Cooper Gardner.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Red Oak Baptist Church and employee’s & staff of the Pavilion B Hall.
