Norma Courson Zelder

Norma Courson Zelder, age 83, of Baxley died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Pavilion.

Mrs. Zelder was born July 2, 1932 in Appling County to the late Elisha Courson and the late Eula Hayes Courson. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Young at Heart and the 55 Club of People State Bank. Mrs. Zelder was a former giftware manager at ACE Hardware and a retired Insurance Agent for Liberty National Insurance Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Zelder.

Mrs. Zelder is survived by one daughter, Helen Harden of Baxley; two sons, James Allen Harden of Stone Mountain and Robbie (Judy) Harden of Baxley; four sisters, Wilda Ann Crosby of Baxley, Mary Lou Patton of McDonough, Nellie (Dave) Yawn of Baxley and Barbara (Carroll) Reynolds of Middleburg, Florida; one brother, Buddy (Martha) Courson of Baxley. Six grandchildren and two step daughters, Linda Zelder and Tammy Sadwal.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. from Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles "Buddy" Coss officiating.

Mrs. Zelder will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are Wayne Crosby, Henry Crosby, Rock Courson, David Yawn, Sammy Yawn and Richard Crosby.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
