Lennie Patricia “Patti” Googe, age 80, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at The Oaks at Bethany in Vidalia.
Mrs. Googe was born May 14, 1942 in Appling County to the late Joe Brown Carter and the late Norma Ryall Carter. She was a homemaker, having worked previously at Piggly Wiggly, Thompson’s Farm Supply, and Googe Egg Farm. Mrs. Googe was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Googe; two daughters, Pamela Googe and Jennifer Googe and one sister, Brownie C. McLeary.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Lynn (Freddy) Gardner of Collins and Michael (Entela) Googe of Savannah; and brothers, John C. (Shirley) Carter of Alma, Jimmy (Beverly) Carter and Melvin Joe Carter both of Baxley, and six grandchildren Caleb Googe, Jesse Googe, Sammy Googe, Matt Gardner, Josh Gardner and Rachel Landmon; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Preston Baxley, Christopher Griffin, Gabe Music, Chancey Vaughn, Walker Rowell, and Sammy Googe.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mendie Mincey, Kim McDaniel, Rowdy & Pattie Gribble, Donald & Lorene Hunter, Grady & Tonya Miles, Ricky & Annette Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Adam Hunter, John Hunter, Genie Stone, Billy & Patricia O’Berry, Jeff Herrington, and Jimmy & Connie Miles.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
