Rabon Hand, age 70, of Baxley died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Appling Healthcare System.
Mr. Hand was born January 5, 1944 in Appling County to the late Elzie Hand and the late Lena Kersey Hand. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and a retired mechanic with Bax-Steel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Copeland Hand and his son, Tony Rabon Hand.
He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Robbie & Keith Davis of Baxley; step-sons & daughters-in-law, Kip & Rhonda Davis of Baxley and Terry & Lavay Davis of Surrency; daughter-in-law, Melinda Hand; sisters, Myrtis Everette of Baxley, Doris Harp of Bowling Green, FL, and Marie Manning of Hazlehurst; ten grandchildren; & eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McLellan officiating.
Interment will follow in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hand will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
