Randall Branch

Randall Branch, age 78, of Baxley, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at Memorial Health Meadows in Vidalia.

Mr. Branch was born June 18, 1945 in Appling County and was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church.  He served full-time active duty in the Georgia Army National Guard for 38 years and retired as Master Sergeant. Mr. Branch was the former owner & operator of Poole & Branch Garage, a heavy equipment operator and was a past member of the Baxley Lions Club and Baxley Jaycees. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Branch Griffin, brothers, Malcolm Griffin, Pete Griffin and a sister, Marilyn Griffin.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Branch of Baxley; daughters, Anslee (Drew) Griffis of Baxley and Andrea (Mark) Miller of Brunswick; siblings, Wendell Griffin of Screven, Harry (Joan) Griffin, Cecil (Karen) Griffin, Mary Ellen Smith, Sarah (Ronnie) Boatright, Janie Cummings, Debbie Branch, Donna Parlor, Richard Griffin, Timothy (Sandy) Griffin, Carlos Griffin and Carolyn McMillan all of Baxley; and uncle, Grady (Carolyn) Branch of Baxley. Grandchildren, Zack (Aaryn) Griffis, Tyler (Reagan) Miller, Austin (Alex) Miller, Gracie Griffis (Bryse Crosby), Mackynna Miller and Anna Synclaire Miller; great-grandsons, Jax Griffis and Cooper Crosby also survived.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Spring Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Lamb and Rev. Joe Ferguson officiating and a eulogy by Andrea Miller. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery with Military Honors.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Miles, Randy Livingston, Daniel Morris, Lieutenant Colonel John Davis, United States Army Retired, Mitch Sears, SFC United States Army Retired, and Colonel Robert T. Utlant, Unites States Army Retired.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men’s fellowship of Spring Branch Baptist Church, Blake Tomberlin, Employees of JM Miles Construction, Woody & Tamela Folsom, Bill & Strelsa Tharpe, Ellen Carter McDaniel, Briana Baxley Aycock, Nancy Rentz Griffin and Shannon Dubberly.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
