Randy Davis

Randy Davis, age 67, of Hazlehurst passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Mr. Davis was born December 23, 1956 to Raymond Lewis Davis and Lorine Hall Davis. He was the retired owner of Davis Construction and a retired truck driver. Mr. Davis was a successful entrepreneur and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Davis; his sister, Judy Shumans; and a nephew, Kyle Shumans.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Clark Davis; daughter, Dixie Best; son, Matthew Best; mother, Lorine Davis, brother, Kendall (Amelia) Davis; grandchildren, Dylan Best, Jamie Roberson, Loramie Hughes, Dalton Best, Layla Sheffield, and Brody Best; one great grandchild, Bentley Best; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Mr. Ezra Varnadore officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Tony New, Herman Sellers, Randy Smith, Laramie R. Hughes, Kyle Maddox, and Dylan Best.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Shumans, Algena Smith, Vicky Cookwood, Ricky Varnadore, Roger Varnadore, Bruce Brock, Clyde Varnadore, John Turner, Andy Jones, Shannon New, and Carlos Delapaz.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
