Rev. Darrell Quinn

Rev. Darrell Quinn, age 70, of Baxley died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Appling Healthcare.

Rev. Quinn was born March 26, 1951 in Alma to the late Tendle Boyd Quinn and the late Betty Branch Quinn.  He was the pastor at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for 37 years. He also served as an executive committee member of the Georgia Baptist Convention and helped found the Spanish Mission.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Quinn of Baxley; daughters & sons-in-law, Tiffany & Jeff Switzer of Baxley, Kristin Quinn of Vidalia, and Heather & Buck Thompson of Baxley; sister & brother-in-law, Beth & Faron Thompson of Bonaire; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sharon & Danny Reed of Warner Robins and James & Harriet Dollar of Dawsonville; and four grandchildren, Grant, Zane, Tinley, and Kara Grace.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brown, Rev. Steve Glosson, and Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Buck Thompson, Adam Thomas, Jeff Switzer, Cole Griffin, Rusty Lovett, and Jonathan Hickox.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
