Ronnie Evans Thornton age 62, of Baxley died Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Mr. Thornton was born June 13, 1952 in Appling County to the late Evans Thornton and the late Odell Williams Thornton. He was a member of Carter's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Francis Thornton & Gloria Faye "Dinky" Thornton.

Survivors include his wife, Molly Thornton of Baxley; 2 daughters, April David of Bradenton, Florida, Amy Denney of Baxley & 2 step daughters, Jennifer Reeves of Baxley & Beth Johnson of Bradenton, Florida; Son, Ronald Thornton of Bradenton, Florida & Step son, Robert Plumb of Michigan City, Indiana; One sister, Oline Eason of Baxley; Six brothers, Willie Harold Thornton, Frank Thornton, Donnie Thornton, Bobby Gene Thornton, Kenny Thornton & Alton Thornton all of Baxley. 20 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Kersey & Rev. Virgil Carter officiating.

Interment will follow in Thornton Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Robby Thornton, Kyle Thornton, Colby Thornton, Bobby Chambers III, Van Harris & Kenneth "Corkey" Thornton,Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Maintenance Shop & Lawter Employees Tyler Jackson, Casey Reeves, Marvin Williams, Spanish Oaks Hospice and all friends and family in attendance.

Visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
