Samuel Jackson Harris

Samuel Jackson Harris, age 28, of Bristol, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his residence.

Sam was born September 30, 1993 in Douglas, Georgia. He was a 2012 Graduate of Appling County High School and a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Sam was a heavy equipment operator and a jack of all trades. He was known for his compassionate personality and loving bear hugs.

Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John & Peggy Harris, and aunt, Ginger Harris.

Survivors include his parents, Steven & Melissa Harris; sister, Sarah Harris; maternal grandparents, Dale & Betty Wickham; aunts & uncles, Stan & Misty Harris, Rufus & Crystal Harris, and Jeff & Dee Wickham; and cousins, Morgan Harris, Whitney Harris, Braxton Harris, Grayson Harris, and Jonathon Odom. Several great aunts, great uncles, and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Jacob Bell, Stan Harris, & Cameron Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Walt Deal, Braxton Harris, Will Hutto, Chandler Morris, Steven Hughes, Matthew Harris, D’undre Byrd, & Jonathon Odom.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
