Sarah Carter Stevens

Sarah Carter Stevens, age 68, of Odum passed away on January 9, 2024 at her residence.

Sarah was born April 2, 1955 in Appling County to the late Fredrick Wilson Carter and the late Carlene Williams Carter. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a retired bus driver and caterer with The Ginger House.  Sarah was preceded in death by a brother, David Carter.

She is survived by her husband, George Dennis Stevens of Odum; sons, Dennis (Brittany) Stevens and Zane Stevens both of Odum; daughter, Kaydence Stevens of Odum; granddaughter, Ally Stevens of Odum; stepdaughters, Becky (Charles) Edens and Lisie (Lucas) Cason both of Douglas; and her sister by heart, not by blood, but by love & friendship, Rennae (Cohen) Griffin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating and a eulogy by Alan Carter. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Jason Carter, Aaron Carter, Greg Tillman, Shawn Tillman, Jeffery Simmons, and Kevin Simmons.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
