Shawn Lambert Stone

Shawn Lambert Stone, age 32, of Perry died Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Perry Hospital.


Mr. Stone was born December 16, 1981 in Appling County. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and went on to receive his Aviation Mechanic Degree from Middle Georgia College. He was employed as an aviation mechanic at Robins Air Force Base where he worked on jet planes. He was an avid outdoors man, a devoted father and a loving son, brother, & friend to many. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Helen Stone.


Survivors include his children, Kylee Stone, Kaitlin Stone, & Kaden Stone all of Cochran; parents, Kenneth & Sherry Stone of Hazlehurst; brother, Justin Stone of Hazlehurst; niece, Brianna Stone of Hazlehurst; maternal grandparents, Vickers & Patricia Mead of Hazlehurst; paternal grandfather, Nathan Stone of Baxley; special friend, Michelle Fincher & her family of Perry; and several aunts, uncles, & cousins.


Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5th at 3:00 p.m. from Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with Rev. Brian Brazzell & Rev. Charles Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in the Altamaha Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County.


Mr. Stone will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
