Thelmage "Buddy" Gay

Thelmage "Buddy" Gay, age 84, of Baxley died Saturday , July 4, 2015.


Mr. Gay was born December 29, 1930, in Baxley, GA to Dan Gay and Matilda Gay.He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Georgia Power. Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his wife, Sabra Gay; his granddaughter, Rita Gay; and daughter in law Sharon (Pixie) Gay.


Survivors include four sons; Gary (Teenie) Gay of East Dublin, GA, Neal (Donna) Gay of Wrightsville, GA, Dale (Gail) Gay of Baxley, GA and Glenn (Kim) Gay of Baxley, GA; one sister, Ines Varnadore of Winter Haven, FL and one brother J.L. Gay of Baxley, GA; five grandchildren; Reggie Gay, Mandy Gay, Jason Gay, Dana Olvera, and Bryan Gay; nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Kathy Gay of Lake Alfred, FL, and Janet Hutcheson of Baxley, GA. Special friends Duaine and Zella Mae Waters of Garden City, GA also survive.


Visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2015, 6:00-8:00.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Roger LaRoach and Rev. Philip O'Steen officiating.


Interment followed in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.


Active pallbearers are Darnell Waters, Ricky Davis, Lamar Leggett, Ronnie Mann, Larry Sanders, and Russell Lewis.


Honorary Pallbearers are members of Calvary Baptist Church.


Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
