Theron H. Herrington

Theron H. Herrington, age 75, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Herrington was born August 30, 1940 in Jeff Davis County and resided briefly in Jacksonville, Florida before returning to Appling County. He was a member, teacher, and former deacon of Zoar Baptist Church and a Gideon. Mr. Herrington was a graduate of the American Institute of Baking in Chicago and served in many management positions with Flower's Baking, Americord, and Walmart Distribution Center. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and loved his wife, children and grandchildren immensely. Mr. Herrington is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Viola Hand Herrington, six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Wynell Jackson Herrington of Baxley; Daughter, Gail (Richard) Thompson of Baxley; Son, Keith (Joan) Herrington of Hazlehurst; Grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson of Dublin, Kyle Thompson of Baxley, Madelyn and Joshua Herrington of Hazlehurst; One sister also survives, Betty (Bernie) Enloe of Winnsboro, S.C.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zoar Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service at the church.

Active Pallbearers are Chris O'Quinn, E.L. Coleman, Bruce Igou, Billy Coleman, Jack Henry and Joe Henry.

Honorary Pallbearers are the men's sunday school class of Zoar Baptist Church and Spanish Oak's Hospice.

Interment will follow in Zoar Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
