Thetis Llevellyn “Bud” Lightsey, Sr. age 86, of Astor, Florida passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Lightsey was born September 3, 1933 in Bristol, Georgia to the late Jennis Olen Lightsey and the late Pauline Harris Lightsey. He was a retired Plant Manager with Gilman Building Products and a member of Pierson United Methodist Church in Pierson, Florida. Mr. Lightsey was also a member of Masonic Lodge 190 in St. Mary’s, Georgia for over 50 years and a member of Shrine Hasan Temple in Albany, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lightsey was also preceded in death by a sister, Joye Lane.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Laura P. Lightsey of Astor, Florida; daughter, Laurel Warren, and husband Jimmy, of Baxley; son, Llevellyn Lightsey, and partner Michael Waddell, of Wailuku, Hawaii; sisters, Jean Griffis of Baxley, Ina Dell Lightsey, Kay Overstreet, & Gwynette Oliff all of Bristol; brother, Jerry Olen Lightsey of Bristol; grandchildren, Sarah Miller, and husband Eric, of Atlanta, Hannah Warren of Orlando, Florida, and Matthew Warren of St. Cloud, Florida. Two great grandchildren, Landon Miller and Luca Miller and several nieces & nephews also survive.
A private graveside service will be held at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Meguiar officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery (c/o Geneva Lightsey 2088 Metts Overstreet Road Bristol, GA 31518).
