Mrs. Velma Eason, age 81, of Surrency died Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Pavilion.
Mrs. Eason was born February 6, 1933 in Appling County to the late William Edward Howell and the late Elizabeth Davis Howell. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Eason was a retired Bookkeeper for Ford Tractor Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Roger Eason, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Beth & Shaun Smith of Baxley & Carole & Ronnie Lewis of Surrency; A son & daughter in law, David & Beverly Eason of Surrency. 9 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Stone & Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating.
Interment will follow in Church Cemetery
Active Pallbearers are Eric Eason, Clark Eason, Jason Boatright, Andrew Lewis, Matthew Lewis and Derrick Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Zion Baptist Church and staff of the Pavilion C Hall.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
