Vonice Elizabeth (Hand) Black

Vonice Elizabeth Black, age 87, of Baxley passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Bacon County Hospital.

Mrs. Black was born on November 29, 1935 to the late William Henry Hand and the late Ruby Lee Rigdon Hand.  Mrs. Black was a homemaker and former sales clerk at BC Moore’s and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Black, and one son, Allen Black.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Zachary of Loveland CO; sons, Glynn Black and Kenny Black both of Baxley, and one sister Betty Overstreet of Panama City, FL.  Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.

A private memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Justin McLellan officiating.

Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
