William A. "Bill" Black, age 66 , of Baxley died Monday, June 16, 2014.
Mr. Black was born March 28, 1948 in Bacon County to the late William Issac Black and the late Mildred Boatright Black. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church and was a veteran in the United States Marine Corp having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Bell South and a member of CWA Local 3220.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, William Marshall & Sandy Black of Baxley; 2 granddaughters, Jacie Black and Rylan Black both of Baxley; sisters and brothers in law, Jacqueline & Clint James of Baxley and Katherine & Richard Decker of Chesapeake, VA.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Ross and Rev. Lamar Lee officiating. Mr. Black will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service.
Interment will follow in Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Active pallbearers are Chris Smith, David Black, Robert Decker, Curtis Taylor, Dale Lynch & Donnie Black.
Honorary pallbearers are friends, family of the Huddle House, Bell South/ATT Employees and Retirees.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
