William Michael "Mike" O'Brien

William Michael "Mike" O'Brien, age 72, of Surrency, died Saturday, December 20, 2014.

Mr. O'Brien was born March 17, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Ernest Len O'Brien and the late Martha Letitia Tillman O'Brien and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He worked for ITT Rayonier for 30 years as company supervisor in the paper mill. Mr. O'Brien proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tania Michelle O'Brien, and his son, Jason Eric O'Brien.

Survivors include his wife Linda W. O'Brien of Surrency; one daughter, Sandi (Tim) Shaffer of Savannah; three sisters Elaine (Wendell) Johnson, Jan (Mike) Lamb, and Beverly (David) Eason all of Surrency ; one grandson, Logan Seth Shafer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derek Hobbs officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2014, 6:00-8:00 PM.

Mr. O'Brien will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Lamb, Mark Lamb, Eric Eason, Clark Eason, Greg Johnson, and Chris Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Surrency High School Graduating Class of 1959.
