Willie Ruth (Green) Courson

Willie Ruth Courson, age 84, of Baxley passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at Twin Oaks Convalescent Center in Alma.

Mrs. Courson was born on February 18, 1938, in Baxley, Georgia to the late Buster and Julie Green. She was retired from Oxford South in Alma and a member of the Satilla Baptist Church.

Mrs. Courson was preceded in death by her husband Warren Courson, Jr.; granddaughter-in-law, Mandy Courson; four sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include two sons, David (Sheree) Courson of Baxley, Tommy (Janet) Courson of Alma; a daughter, Catherine Teston of Baxley and six grandchildren: Tonya Harrelson, Lori Duncan, Rocky (Erica) Courson, Jonathan Courson, Lance Courson, and Hunter (Blake) Weaver. Nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Mann officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Rocky Courson, Lance Courson, Blake Weaver, Dustin Hunter, Cody Hunter, Jack Lee Courson, and James Luke Courson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gideons International (Appling Camp P.O. Box 403 Baxley, Georgia 31515).
